A Separate Bin for Organic Food Waste
If we are on the boat for long periods of time and know that we won’t get to land to dispose of our organic waste then we have to keep it separate from our dry waste or the bin will start to smell very quickly. We use an old Kirkland (Costco) peanut tub with a lid, you can use anything that has a lid that fits tightly. We place all our organic waste in this and when appropriate we empty it overboard or dispose of it on land.
