Tip 4. Plastic Bottle Bins!

Whilst on passage or if we are going to be out sailing for a few weeks without being able to dispose of our rubbish on land, I get the largest plastic bottle I can find, cut up all my plastic, cardboard, and paper, and shove it in with the end of a wooden spoon. When it gets stiff to push and near the top of the bottle, I add water and shove the rubbish further into the bottle. The water softens the cardboard and provides more space. Voila, a way to contain your rubbish!

The photo is  of 28 days of plastic and paper, the cans and items that won’t fit in the bottle are in a separate bag awaiting a suitable place to dispose of them ashore.
