Manhattan is a special place for us. I proposed to Maria at the top of the Empire State Building, overlooking the Chrysler Buiding. And we married at Fort Tryon Park on the upper west side. So, we have some familiarity with the city.

But arriving here by boat is like seeing the Manhattan show from the backstage. And it is fascinating.

We arrived in the early afternoon sunshine and headed for the Liberty Park anchorage. We chose here because it is sheltered and close to the entrance, it appeals to the inner tightwad because it is free, and it has a spectacular view of the Statue of Liberty.
