Three hundred and thirty miles to Barbados and we are floating on a bed of seaweed. I assume it’s Sargasso weed and there’s sheets of it everywhere.
It isn’t slowing us down though. At the speed we are doing, we should arrive at Bridgetown late Friday afternoon. That sounds good, but we are advised to arrive between 0800 to 1730 to clear quarantine, immigration and customs – and we might just miss the evening deadline. So, we’ll make a judgement on Friday on whether or not to slow down to delay our arrival until Saturday morning instead. We don’t mind – even that’s a day earlier than we expected to get to Barbados.
We are on a quest to minimise the things we need to do on arrival. So, we are keeping the boat as tidy as possible and, yesterday, Maria did the laundry – so there will be no battling for supremacy with other yachtie folks in a Bajan laundromat when we get there.
All continues to be good with crew and boat.
